Ausflugtipp: Herisau

Herisau, nicht so berühmt wie Appenzell, aber der historische Ortskern kann sich mit dem touristisch bekannteren Appenzell messen. 

Das Dorfzentrum von Herisau, mit schönen Fabrikantenhäusern und alten Gassen lädt zum Rundgang und Verweilen ein. Einige Gebäude im Orts­kern sind auf der Liste der Kulturgüter von nationaler Bedeutung. 

Um alle Schmuckstücke der geschichtlichen Architektur zu erkunden ist es empfehlenswert wenn man dem Herisauer Kulturpfad folgt. 

Der Kulturpfad führt durch die vier alten Gassen (Schmiedgasse, Oberdorf-, Bach- und Gossauerstrasse) und die im 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert angelegten neuen Hauptstrassen im Zentrum der Ge­mein­de. Dauer: ca. 1 Stunde.

Herisau, not as famous as Appenzell, but the historic town center can compete with Appenzell, which is better known for tourists. 

The village center of Herisau, with beautiful factory owner's houses and old alleys, invites you to take a tour and linger. Some buildings in the town center are on the list of cultural assets of national importance.

In order to explore all the jewels of the historical architecture, it is recommended to follow the Herisau cultural path. The culture trail leads through the four old streets (Schmiedgasse, Oberdorf-, Bach- and Gossauerstrasse) and the new main streets in the center of the community that were laid out in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Duration: approx. 1 hour.
