Ausflugtipp: Rigi - Königin der Berge

Zu jeder Jahreszeit hat ein Rigi-Besuch hat seinen ganz besonderen Reiz.

Mitten in der Zentralschweiz gelegen, ist die Rigi (1'797 m ü.M.) aus jeder Himmelsrichtung bestens erreichbar. Mit der Bergbahn oder Luftseilbahn geht’s von Arth-Goldau, Vitznau oder Weggis hinauf, mitten in die imposante Bergwelt. 

Bereits im 18. Jahrhundert war die Rigi dank der einzigartigen Lage europaweit als Ausflugsziel bekannt. Sie war in gewisser Weise ein Pionierberg des Alpentourismus. 

Selbst Königin Viktoria liess sich in der Sänfte hinauftragen. Im 19. Jahrhundert öffneten nach und nach Kurhäuser und mondäne Hotels in Kaltbad, Rigi Kulm und auf der Scheidegg, später auch oberhalb des Klösterlis und auf der Staffelhöhe. 

Mit dem Bau der Vitznau-Rigibahn 1871, die als erste Bergbahn Europas in die Geschichte einging, und der Arth-Rigibahn 1875 wurde der moderne Massentourismus eingeläutet.

Die Rigi gilt als klassisches Wanderparadies mit über 100 km Wanderwegen. Panoramawanderungen zwischen Rigi-Kulm, Staffelhöhe, Kaltbad, Scheidegg und Klösterli garantieren spektakuläre Tiefblicke auf Seen und Mittelland.

A visit to Rigi has its own special charm at any time of the year.

Located in the middle of Central Switzerland, the Rigi (1,797 m above sea level) can be easily reached from any direction. You can take the mountain railway or cable car from Arth-Goldau, Vitznau or Weggis up into the middle of the imposing mountains.

Because of its unique location, the Rigi was already known throughout Europe as a destination in the 18th century. In a way, it was a pioneer mountain of alpine tourism. In a way, it was a pioneer mountain of Alpine tourism. Even Queen Victoria allowed herself to be carried up in the litter. In the 19th century, spa houses and sophisticated hotels gradually opened in Kaltbad, Rigi Kulm and on Scheidegg, and later also above Klösterli and on Staffelhöhe. With the construction of the Vitznau-Rigibahn in 1871, which went down in history as the first mountain railway in Europe, and the Arth-Rigibahn in 1875, modern mass tourism was heralded.

The Rigi is a classic hiking paradise with over 100 km of hiking trails. Panoramic hikes between Rigi-Kulm, Staffelhöhe, Kaltbad, Scheidegg and Klösterli guarantee spectacular views of the lakes and the Central Plateau.
